Salisbury, Md. -- The fifth-ranked softball team defeated Capital for the second time in as many days at Salisbury's Sea Gull Tournament, 14-5, Saturday. The Bombers (12-1) plated eight runs in the top of the fourth to put the game out of reach.
Senior Leigh Bonkowski (The Williams School/Mystic, Conn.) went two-for-three in the game with a triple, two runs scored and four RBIs. Junior Hannah Shalett (Shepaug Valley/Bridgewater, Conn.) went two-for-four with three runs scored, while sophomore Erica Cutspec (Fort Plain/Fort Plain) was two-for-three with two runs scored. Cutspec and Shalett had one RBI each.
Sophomore Nicole Cade (Beaverton/Portland, Ore.) entered the game in the bottom of the third and pitched 2.1 innings to record her sixth win of the season.
Ithaca will take on #2 Salisbury at 11 a.m. in its final game of the Sea Gull Tournament
